The 2020 Chinese Committee Meeting of China-Arab Joint Chamber of Commerce was held in Beijing on August 27th, and Chinamex Middle East Investment & Trade Promotion Center (“CHINAMEX”) participated in the event as the company holding vice presidency in the Chinese Committee. Mr. Wang Wei, the Executive Deputy General Manager, attended the meeting and delivered a speech on behalf of CHINAMEX.

Mr. Wang Wei said that CHINAMEX had been devoted to facilitating the internationalization of Chinese enterprises ever since its foundation in the year of 2000, and had helped over 3,000 Chinese companies to successfully enter the markets of Middle East, Latin America, Europe and the USA. He also made an introduction of the cooperation experiences between CHINAMEX and the Arab countries, and expressed the determination in enhancing cooperation with more Arab countries, with a view to making greater contributions to the bilateral and multilateral business relations.

Mr. Zhang Shaogang the Vice Chairman of CCPIT/CCOIC, H.E. Dr. Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri the Ambassador of UAE to China, H.E. Anwar Al Abdulla the Ambassador of Bahrain to China, H.E. Hussam A.G. Al Husseini the Ambassador of Jordan to China and Mr. Khaled Hanafy the Secretary General of Union of Arab Chambers attended the meeting and addressed the audience. More than 300 representatives from Embassy of Saudi Arabia in China, Embassy of Lebanon in China, companies holding presidency and vice presidency in the Chinese committee, and those from energy, infrastructure, finance, aerospace, nuclear energy, new energy and other fields attended the meeting in person or online.

Approved by the State Council of China, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Arab League of Agriculture and Industry Association jointly launched the China-Arab Joint Chamber of Commerce in 1988. It is a non-profit organization that serves as an important multilateral mechanism of CCPIT to promote the economic and trade cooperation, investment and communication between China and Arab countries. Presently, China Communications Construction Group is holding the presidency in the Chinese Committee of the China-Arab Joint Chamber of Commerce, eight enterprises including China Railway Construction Corporation, China Great Wall Industry Corporation, CRRC International Corporation Limited, China Machinery Engineering Corporation, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, China Agricultural Wholesale Market Association, Chinamex Middle East Investment & Trade Promotion Center and SPIC Ningxia Energy Aluminum Qingxin Carbon Co., Ltd. are holding the vice presidency, and another 117 enterprises are as members. The Secretariat of the Chinese Council is located in the Bilateral Cooperation Department of the China International Chamber of Commerce.
